Calling Team Johnson! Let's Boost Kelli's Memory!
Today we worked on several memory exercises with Kelli which she did very well at. She continues to improve and piece things back together. She still has some cloudiness but this is to be expected. A Dr. compared the situation to a broken arm, it usually takes 6 to 8 weeks for the bone to heal and then you have to take time to strengthen the arm. Her healing is no different but the brain can take much longer than a bone. We continue to work hard with patience and diligence and understand that this takes time. I'm still so impressed with her and the amazing progress she's making. Our hearts are newly heavy after sharing the information on the accident with Kelli. I know we'll make it through this but it's not easy. Kelli loves to have our family together and we make sure the kids come to see her during lunch break and in the evening after dinner. These are the happiest times of Kelli's day and she is determined to "heal up and take care of our family"...she tells me multiple times a day. I know she will, she does one step at a time each day. I'm trying to get updated pictures of family and friends to help Kelli get updated and charge her memory. Anyone that would like to can please send pictures in care of Craig Hospital to Kelli & Chauncy Johnson to the address provided on Caringbridge.org in 4x6 prints (so they fit in the albums I purchased). 1 to 2 prints per family or friend would be best maybe with a little information on the back. It will be nice for her to be able to see pictures of anyone who wants to participate who has been a part of Kelli's life. Thanks again for all of the support! --Chauncy

oh there really are no words to express how very proud I am to call you both, Kelli and Chauncy friends. In my memory you are still young kids but it is evident you have grown to become an amazing young family. There is such wisdom, strength and love that come from your posts Chauncy. The kids and I are keeping both the Johnson and Hoffman families close to our hearts and in our prayers at this time. We love you more than words. ~ Julie
